The fruit and veg man at the market gave us a special offer for half a dozen kiwis and six lemons. Instead of sixty-five Euros he gave them to us for six and a half. Delighted with such a great deal we took a short walk around the outside of the village past the sewage plant.
The sunken pathway is always picturesque and it had the added advantage of protecting us from that Siberian wind which was giving us brain freeze.
The Persian cat ignored us totally, absorbed as it was in getting a drink from a frozen puddle. Or perhaps it couldn’t actually look up because its tongue was frozen to the ice. Ouch.
