More cycle path. From the school drop-off point walking downriver, the fifteen minute mark is this surprising place. An evangelical church where they practice the putting on of hands and prayer for the sick. There was a strange smell emanating from the place reminiscent of brimstone.
It could simply be the sewage plant fifty metres away.
This part of Amboise, along the cycle path, is non-buildable. It’s mostly given over to allotments but some people live there all year round hence the smell of gas fumes from electric generators.
I saw something curious over on the other side of the river as I walked back. Five white birds at the water’s edge – couldn’t identify them at that distance – were perfectly spread at precise distances from one another. As I stopped to look, a sixth bird flew in and spoiled the pattern. There’s always one isn’t there.
