Walking uphill towards the forest I saw someone up ahead wearing a high vis jacket. Judging by the number of shots fired at the weekend it is hunting season and nothing screams “look out, hunters!” at me more than people walking around in high vis jackets. So I U-turned and took this magnificent picture at the fifteen minute point on a different route.

This is the lane just around the corner from us. Going left at the second telegraph post takes you down to the old wash house.

When I turned tail and fled I had another look at high vis man. He had a big white dog. I suspect it was one of my neighbours, not a hunter, who took the precaution of wearing hi vis to go walking near the forest. He is less foolish than I thought.
