La Petite Cisse
My regular appointment in Mesland, some beautiful weather, a camera in my bag; all the elements necessary for a reconnaissance mission.
Check out these surprised looking faces all around the door into the church. They, all 27 of them (and their beards), have all been there for about 900 years apparently. Inside the (locked) church it is said that there is a very impressive marble sculpture of Mary and Jesus. I cannot confirm, unfortunately.
Outside in the square there is this rather unusual golden barrel. It’s a water fountain. I know…, I too was hoping it gushed out sparkling white wine.
On the other side of the square this face is the very picture of abject misery. I can’t think why. Mesland is really quite charming in the sunshine.
