This is where I got today. Seriously underwhelming, no? Even so it was very pleasant. No rain and not cold. And on the way back I met an old friend.

You can barely see him in the photo but it’s a young male I think. Walking around this exact spot about a year ago I approached a deer just like this one to within ten metres. It had it’s back turned and I was being quiet as is my wont. It turned suddenly, saw me and bounded off inelegantly five or ten metres in a blind panic. It then stopped and looked back at me indignantly, having realised I was no threat whatsoever, gave me a dirty look and walked away with its head held high.

This chap looked at me for a few minutes and I looked back. I think I recognise the reproachful look it’s giving me.
