Taking advantage of a dry spell this morning I took off uphill into the vineyards and the forest. It seems like it has rained constantly for at least six weeks. The ground is so gorged with water that even with my chunky waterproof walking shoes I slithered around like a duck on ice. It made walking somewhat irksome.

After fifteen minutes of squelching and having got a rather insipid picture of a pile of logs, I returned to work. I took some other pictures but they were worse. I’m on page 16 of the instructions. Only 390 pages left. At this rate I will have mastered the new camera a few minutes before built-in obsolescence renders it completely useless.

It’s a pity I didn’t go for a walk this afternoon instead. The day turned out rather sunny.
